The Seattle cop who threatened to "make stuff up" - fabricate felony robbery charges - after arresting two Seattle men for a misdemeanor, was only "bantering" with them, police now say. His comment was deemed by SPD as merely "inappropriate" since he never actually made up any charges.

And if they'd objected, "resisting an officer". "Welcome to the re-runs of Fun with the Gestapo. How many false charges can you rack up before you're sentenced?" Didn't anyone tell these uniformed twits that lying is wrong?

We have ascertained eons ago that any particular group is a representation of the public at large.. so, it isn't beyond the scope that within the police depts across America.. there will be those who do not follow the rules/laws. This doesn't surprise me at all.. and like any specific group more should be done .. especially in authority.. to make sure that their representatives.. this being the police officer on the beat.. has been put through the paces more so to weed out those that have passed their time for a psychological work up, and possible dismissal.

@P4TC,

IMO, this sort of "bantering" ought to cost this cop his badge.

I can't help but wonder how many people have done time---or worse---because a corrupt cop or DA decided to have "fun & games" with someone's life.

If this particular officer has been on the force any length of time, every arrest he has ever made ought or to be reviewed to make sure no one is in prison today because "once upon a time, a dirty cop decided to make stuff up" to put someone away for the fun of it.

I have this understanding.. that people congregate/associate with those who are like/similar to what they are like or similar to.

I won't defend the cop's frustrations or incompetent actions/words.. ..okay just a tad.. police see the worse in all of us day in and day out.. and for the lack of a better term .. they get burnt out and negative. This is when you see a cop abuse their authority.. by beating the hell out of someone.. and so on... and why I'd like to see some action taken ..like psychologist every so many month..every 6-8 months say... where they can let it all out.. to relieve that frustrations and negativity before it becomes another news clip.
