Sarita, TX ─ U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Harlingen Station saved the lives of two illegal aliens Wednesday morning.

The two men, nationals of El Salvador, were left behind by a human smuggler and became lost in the dense brush. One of the men placed a 9-1-1 call to the Willacy County Sheriff’s Office and requested assistance.

Agents quickly located the pair using GPS coordinates provided by the Sheriff’s Office. One of the men requested medical attention for his left eye and was transported to the Harlingen Medical Center for evaluation. He was treated and released back into Border Patrol custody.

The two illegal aliens will be processed for return to El Salvador.
