She sat down on the toilet bowl in her master bedroom bathroom on March 25, 2009.
For the next 902 days, the small, white-tiled room became Madam Leong Mee Yan's home.

Maybe it as all that fat o her azz that prevented her from getting up.
This is just stupid. she had to get up and exercise, cook and buy food and stuff like that. not to mention, if anyone stays in one position for more than 30 days they put themselves at a great risk of a heart attack since there is no movement or blood flow being circulated in the legs.
This is a big of a bs story that anyone can come up with. I'm sure all that crap she let out was coming out of the wrong end when she told this story to the media.
This woman needs some serious mental therapy in an office, not a bathroom.

An atypical case of OCD anxiety.
needs meds. no need to make fun of her.

Hubby needs to be charged with spousal abuse. You don't get to let a vulnerable adult need help for years and not say anything to anybody.
- 2 votes
This is easily diagnosed.
I believe she is suffering from Lazibitchittus. It is relatively uncommon, but occassionally it rears it's ugly head when a woman finds herself unwilling to do anything. I personally would have left her there and she would have eventually got her fat ass up an ate.
2.5 years is nothing...my Cleveland Browns have been stuck in the Toilet Bowl for the last 20 years

I hardly was able to bleed green this year, as my Eagles were not flying high..:(

LMAO!*milk comes out nose*
*regains composure* That was funny! (Maybe that's why they're called the Browns?[sarcasm])
GO PATS!

That means her legs were asleep for exactly 2.4999314159 years? Call Guiness! The proof is the ring around her a$$.
LMAO T. Fargo....Thank you for offically making me lose all my coffee this morning..its on the screen...;) Thank you for my first laugh of the day...
That's a pretty idiotic comment to make on someone's medical problem.

Vikramjit, life is difficult enough WITH a sense of humor. Go troll your killjoy comments where people don't understand sarcasm, like yourself.
Speaking for myself, I believe anyone who is allowed to sit on a toilet for more than an hour has a problem and needs medical attention, just so you don't think I'm a callous bastard. I don't know her personally, therefore I can't make fun of her. I am making "fun" of the situation presented by the headline. That is called flippance or sarcasm.

I thought that was pretty good

@T Fargo : You clearly do not understand the situation in the manner it needs to be. Please don't make fun of such things. It may seem oddball or funny but it is a clear cut case of OCD induced anxiety.
Now go google it before passing off comments !!

It doesn't mean your right either. And I understand OCD. Go pedal your ire elsewhere please.
There is two sides or more to every story.. and if you have a problem write to the newspaper that printed this story under Weird..
And it is freakin weird for someone to CLAIM they spent 2.5 years on a freakin toilet.. and if you do not have a sense of humor .. then you cannot come down on members because YOU do not agree.. but by making a personal comment to one of the members on Newsvine like you did shows more about you, than it does about them.
@ Par4TheCourse- I think Vikramjit is also suffering delusions of grandeur. A typical case of meglomania. Needs meds. His home page header declares himself king.
Well Par I think this is a great seed and appreciate you sharing it with all of us..now lets all hug and sing Kung Ba Ya..LOL

If you did you wouldn't make a joke of it.

I will. It only goes to show the kind of attitudes people have.
And it is freakin weird for someone to CLAIM they spent 2.5 years on a freakin toilet..
Again it may seem weird but it is obvious that it's not something to be laughed at. Seriously are you not getting that ?
and if you do not have a sense of humor ..
Again this is NOT HUMO(U)R.
then you cannot come down on members because YOU do not agree.. but by making a personal comment to one of the members on Newsvine like you did shows more about you, than it does about them.
I did not make personal comments ....that's your interpretation.

LOL. no that's from a movie...not an english movie though.

No you specifically attacked one person Vikramjit. It is a violation of the CoH plainly. It is not an interpretation. It is a fact. I break them all the time, so I know. Now having said that, you need to lighten up. Are you the woman in the story, do you know her, if you don't then your comments could be construed in just the same way. You may not like that he found humour in her setting there like an idiot for 2.5 years, but that is his perogative.
On a more serious note, that had to be the worst case of ring around the toilet in history.

LOL @ your american logic.

I don't have to know her to know the issue at stake.
You may not like that he found humour in her setting there like an idiot for 2.5 years, but that is his perogative.
Firstly the woman was not an idiot..this shows your prejudice. Secondly I do not deny it's his perogative but I still think and rightly so that his comments are typical of prejudice that say "people with disabilities" may have to face in day to day life. It is this attitude that is wrong.
On a more serious note, that had to be the worst case of ring around the toilet in history.
You just proved my point on prejudice above with your last statement.

So now you insult my country and call me prejudice. Well here is the truth of it. There is nothing prejudice about thinking someone incompetent for setting on a toilet for 2.5 years. The Husband should have alerted authorities way before this point, and she probably did need help of the mental variety. Now obviously you have some great insight into this that no one else does:
I don't have to know her to know the issue at stake
Maybe you too have set on the toilet for long periods of time, I don't know. If that is the case, then I suggest you seek medical help and not a message board. As far as laughing at my "American Logic" well it means a lot coming from someone who claims India, home of Hijri, Seti Rituals, throwing babies off of roofs, and let's not forget dipping them in boiling water. God forbid your wife displease you as well, because she will probably end up in a burn unit somewhere or dead. God forbid that my backward American logic require someone to be responsible for theirs and their loved ones own actions.

Let's not forget the practice of clitoral castration in India and other Asian nations. Sweeping generalizations will get us nowhere.
@ Jimmy the Goon- Vikramjit does not seek understanding, only to hammer home his point of view to the point where we change our minds (fat chance). He does not respect or understand our humor and continues to harangue us. Best to ignore him.

Yes there is. stop making sweeping silly statements.
The Husband should have alerted authorities way before this point, and she probably did need help of the mental variety. Now obviously you have some great insight into this that no one else does:
Yes he must have oscillated between telling or not telling. I know many families and cases where people suffer from such issues for years before seeking help.
Maybe you too have set on the toilet for long periods of time, I don't know. If that is the case, then I suggest you seek medical help and not a message board.
See you are again talking thru your hat...and also poking fun at a persons disability which you are not comprehending as a tragic situation.
As far as laughing at my "American Logic" well it means a lot coming from someone who claims India, home of Hijri, Seti Rituals, throwing babies off of roofs, and let's not forget dipping them in boiling water.
LOL . What you smoking over there man ? Send some my way. All the above are banned by law in India and fast declining if even present anywhere. As for domestic violence it happens in US too.
God forbid your wife displease you as well, because she will probably end up in a burn unit somewhere or dead. God forbid that my backward American logic require someone to be responsible for theirs and their loved ones own actions.
It's not your logic..It's your limited understanding of world cultures which seems to be the root of the problem. Now that's very american if I can say that after having lived years in the US. :) Now you have obviously not lived in India..so it is clear who is the more experienced of us two here.

Me: So now you insult my country and call me prejudice.
You: LOL . No .
But wait, you did.
Firstly the woman was not an idiot..this shows your prejudice.
LOL @ your american logic.
And once more I can prove you wrong. I have spent over a year between Turkey and India traveling back and forth non-stop. I spent 2 years in Korea, 1 in Germany, and 1 in Jordan. You can take your limited World view speach and feed it to the birds. Just because you have no understanding of basic Human Rights and Responsibilities doesn't mean I have a limited World View.
At this point though I feel that you can't change how you feel and neither can we, nor do I care to try.

Making fun of someone's disability is not humor. you need to see that. It's sad.
- 1 vote
Your sad. Very sad. Making fun of my disability to not be able to keep from making fun of someone else's disability is very intollerant. I just can't help myself. I have to make fun of people stuck on the @!$%#ter.
Don't worry. I put it on ignore. No more from me on the subject.
