The nation’s most powerful business groups are dialing up the political pressure on the White House to approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

December’s payroll-tax-cut deal gives the administration 60 days to approve or reject TransCanada Corp.’s pipeline to bring oil from Alberta’s tar sands projects to Gulf Coast refineries.

This week’s actions are part of a wider GOP and industry blitz in favor of Keystone. Republicans are using the pipeline as an election-season political weapon against President Obama, arguing he can create jobs and help the economy by approving it.

Business groups, Republicans launch onslaught on president

hi Par just alone the title tells the story of who would profit. lies up front, Beohner "tens of thousands of jobs, the people sponsoring say 20,000 down to 5,000 who do you believe? doesn't this alleged oil go into the international market? we don't suck it up and bring it to your house. this has been an oil driven right wing party oil for war, or more appropriately oil for lives. our beloved Pres. cares about your lungs and water. they like to crack on Solyndra's bankruptcy, did the last Gulf oil spill cost as much or more? no regulation no environmental study sounds just like a republican jobs bill, give a damn at would could happen just get the oil out so Cheney and Bush get richer and the more bribe money the less we care about the safety of the people. if they are willing to let the Koch's strangle you with factory and give you Dysentary from polluted water. good INTELLIGENT move our beloved Pres. shows the presidential attributes of someone who puts the people first instead of blood money. they think they can continue to fool the people after not creating one job promised in 2010 this exaggerated last ditch effort is suppose to launch them right into the WH, nah. sounds like T-Per's not such a good idea either

j. johnson .. Hi.. I heard and read some place where the oil from this pipeline was not earmarked for the U.S. , but being shipped out from southern Texas where the pipeline ends.. destined over seas..

This would be a 1700 mile pipeline without enough security .. especially in these times where we are watching out for terrorist..and target where they can attack.. Even a crazy American citizen could destroy at some point causing great concern for the environmental impact ...

Solyndra is one failure.. to 100's of other success stories..

IF Obama okays this pipeline it will be his name that will be cursed if anything goes wrong.
