Solar3D, Inc. is developing a breakthrough 3-dimensional solar cell technology to maximize the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Up to 30% of incident sunlight is currently reflected off the surface of conventional solar cells, and more is lost inside the solar cell materials. Inspired by light management techniques used in fiber optic devices, our innovative solar cell technology utilizes a 3-dimensional design to trap sunlight inside micro-photovoltaic structures where photons bounce around until they are converted into electrons. This next generation solar cell will be dramatically more efficient, resulting in a lower cost per watt that will make solar power affordable for the world. So when do I expect to see them in a nearby store in my area. I am ready.

I like the way that Henry Ford had a hand in mass production and it lowered cost, and they could make more vehicles.. in today's market we have mass production raising cost.. it is curious..

Mass deployment of solar cells has always been about improved production methods which result in lower manufacturing costs . The ideal situation is improved efficiency but at low cost . It sounds like this could be it .
However , until they report an actual efficiency and cost per watt it is only time to wait and see .
Par4TheCourse That is because of what is called " saturation point" todays " productivity increases"; means more robotics, and to My knowledge those robots do not become customers, so this days productivity, means more unemployed, that means less customers, As I said on the Other post, the 24-32 % Conversion factor PV panels will be in the market before the end of this years, the question is will some of those manufactures be located in the USA or not?
