For the second straight year, law enforcement fatalities in the United States rose with 173 federal, state, and local officers killed in the line of duty during 2011, according to preliminary data compiled and released by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF).

After reading the article I see that out of the 173 officers that died last year that the death of 68 of them was by a firearm. It would be very interesting to know that out of that 68 how many of them were killed by other law enforcement officers. It would also be interesting to know how many people here in the United States were killed by law enforcement officers. To see how much that number has increased as well.
