Grover Norquist’s grip on the House Republican Conference is loosening.

A growing number of GOP lawmakers have disavowed Norquist’s pledge against supporting tax increases in recent days, telling The Hill they no longer feel bound to uphold a document that they signed, in some cases, more than a decade ago.

Some Republicans have disavowed the pledge not based on a dispute over its duration, but because they say it constrains their policy choices.

Why did they sign up in the first place? Why did they allow themselves to be 'occupied' by "NORQUIST"? I think everybody that signed 'Jack Abramoff's' friend's pledge, should resign from Congress, Period. Signing pledges to LOBBYIST defeats the concept of DEMOCRACY....Kind of makes one think; what IS their view of... democracy???

The only pledge they need to take is the 'PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG'.

They should be signing a pledge to the 99% of us.. that elect them into office.. that they will do what is best for the people.. not their handlers/owners/masters... We should be their only master.. instead of the Influence Peddling that is in Congress today.
