MEREDITH VIEIRA:
So, is the time right now for you?DONALD TRUMP:
Well, the time certainly is right. We’re a laughing stock as a country throughout the world. We’re being taken advantage of by other countries
- 12 votes
Just like a snake in the grass... slithering along on its belly... and he certainly fits into the mold of a Republican politician.... unscrupulous .. very little above board..and punches below the belt.
If one cannot try to match wits and play the game fairly .. they enter into this kind of devious and pretentious onslaught against someone that is above them. Those who are the bottom of the barrel usually escape it by bringing other people down to their level of play. If one cannot debate or meet the challenge fairly .. one will do the things that this arse wipe is doing.

It would be wonderful to see someone launch an investigation into Trump's birth, childhood, academic records, personal life, financial affairs, and health records. After all, he is a potential presidential candidate and we should get all that info out to the public NOW.

He is very entertaining.
You could have stopped your post there.

Trump is a self-important sob with a great head for business opportunity. That doesn't mean he always does well in business; he just knows a great one when he sees one.
And boy oh boy is the US a great BUSINESS opportunity, as we have seen by the corporations profiting off the taxpayers thus far.

You know when I heard trump was running on the right, I thought, "finally some sanity from the right, maybe this will tone down the I-can-say-something-crazier-than-you crap... and then he exposes himself as a birther.
The shear amount of people this conspiracy would take, and right there at the top levels of our government and you have to assume that Hilary Clinton didnt really want to be president or didnt have the money to do an investigation into something so easily provable which would completely destroy her competition.
It is mind bogging how big of conspiracies the right can fit into their tiny little brains. Crap look at AGW, most of them believe in a conspiracy that involved a huge number of people from every nation on the planet, and every science group on the planet, and every science mag on the planet.

Hey, Trump. I would check up on those boots on the ground in Hawaii you have sleuthing through the dusty old records in Honolulu to find the "real" birth certificate of Obama. Word is they are sipping Mai Tais on the beach at Waikiki. Maybe they figure it will wash up onto their flip-flops. Have them bring you back some more of that fake Hawaiian bronzer-in-a-jar you have caked on your lying mug.

Here's the Million Dollar Question: When Trump's investigators determine that Pres. Obama really was born in HI will Trump be honest enough to share those results with the American public and denounce birtherism once and for all? (The answer, by the way, is hell no.)
- 31 votes
Sane people already know the answer. Birthers will never be satisfied with any proof because the whole ugly subject has nothing to do with his citizenship.

I travel and work with people from many countries; my observation is the U.S. has regained respectability again due to Obama.
We lost alot of credibility when our 43rd President lied to the world about Iraq.
One common comment around the world is that of "how racist the U.S. still is".

I doubt it.

Calling some one a racist because they disagree or take issue with someone other than their own race is not racist. One who labels someone a racist unduly is far worse not to mention a coward for failing to debate the issue

We’re a laughing stock as a country throughout the world.
And now Trump is turning himself into one as well. Strange course of action. You would think the talk about India, China, OPEC etc. would be enough to stand on. Instead he decided to go to crazy town too. Man...it must be some sort contagion that spreads whenever you put a R next to your name.
To assume Trump is correct, is to assume that the entire GOP as well as McCain/Palin were too inept to investigate fully. What magical thing has Trump done that they did not do previously?
- 15 votes
OMG--The man can not even get BECKs vote for Christ's sake!!! And there are people here saying that "the Donald" would be a good choice.
Maybe the GOTPers were on to something when they suggested intelligence testing before voting.
Good Lord people, what has this country come to!!?? A black man made president and it seems that this country completely lost it!
You do realize that a BLACK man can be president right? You do realize that we went through this same scurvy when Kennedy was running except it was IRISH Catholics. They were made out to be the scurge of the century. Now, it seems as though we've changed our minds on KENNEDY and he is our CAMELOT. Good Grief.
Vote for the integrity of this country and the people who live, work and die for it. Not for the backroom dealers that shuffle all their cash to banks in Geneva and the Caymans.
WAKE UP!!!

I know this. I will be better than anybody. I will do the best job. If I decide to run, I will do the best job. I will be best for this country. And, you may say, "Oh, gee, that doesn't sound like George Washington." Well, guess what? Before George Washington ran, he didn't sound like George Washington either. I will be and do a great job, if I run and if I win.
Uh, Earth to Donald...George Washington didn't run for President; he was selected by the political leaders of the day (especially since they didn't have popular elections for President before 1800). Oh, and BTW, he always sounded like George Washington; through Valley Forge, Trenton, the Carolina's, Virginia, and on to the British defeat, this nation IS this nation because he DID sound like George Washington.
Sheeesh! Imagine the nerve, to compare himself and suggest that he is better than Washington...every time that I think that I've seen everything from the neo-cons....

The T-Baggers are all hypocrites. They have the Donald leading the pack of potential GOP candidates in the latest polls. What happened to their distaste for elitists? President Obama has been raked over the coals by T-Baggers for being, in their mind, an elitist. The Donald is the ideal model of an elitist: silver spoon, private schools, country club member, large inheritance etc. WTF!!!

I use to think Donald Trump was somewhat intelligent. At least in business. Not my cup of tea, but hey. Then, when he aligned himself with the birther movement I thought, ok, sliding down the credibility scale. After reading those excerpts from the interview, I just thought he was a rambling mess.
As someone from another Country, I agree with an earlier poster that America is seen in a better light since Obama became president. I would only laugh at Americans if Donald Trump were to become president...I take that back...I wouldn't laugh at the American people, but I would laugh at Donald Trump.
That is if it wasn't so scary that he has a RED phone and access to THE button.

" Trump ate her lunch and made mince meat of her."
And that's why he was being interviewed? You've unwittingly posted a great example of why conservatives are such a disaster in all affairs foreign and domestic. Trump had an opportunity to show a larger audience than he's ever had exactly what he brings to the table, and he shows the nation.....crap.
Meredith Viera is recognized as among the best and brightest in American television journalism, and you think her intention was to somehow make Trump look bad?? Wow. Where the hell is your medication??
Paranoid, stupid, arrogant....so many descriptors would fit here, but those three will do. For now.

I could care less about the whole birther issue. I believe American citizens should be able to have children while on vacation or on a work assignment out of the country and not have to worry about eligibility for office.
Meredith Viera is recognized as among the best and brightest in American television journalism
Viera brought up the birther with the intent to embarrass or catch Trump off guard, he was there to promote the Apprentice. She appeared to look foolish to me.
Trump had an opportunity to show a larger audience than he's ever had exactly what he brings to the table
The interviewer afforded him no such opportunity.
Paranoid, stupid, arrogant....so many descriptors would fit here, but those three will do. For now.
I was just making an observation.....I love how quickly you have labeled me or were you just projecting your own character flaws?

"Viera brought up the birther with the intent to embarrass or catch Trump off guard"
Trump has been all over the media, trying hard to instill doubt in the American public that the sitting President of the United States of America is not qualified for the office he was elected to in November of 08'. It is now April of 2011, by the way. In another era, he would be seen a Traitor, and charged with treason. I personally see him as that traitor.
In light of those facts, you make the incredible claim that Meredith Viera was somehow, out of line in asking Trump about his ridiculous public statements? Yeah....and Katie Couric had it out for Sarah Palin, too.
You go on to make this claim: 'The interviewer afforded him no such opportunity." In response to my observation that he had the opportunity to showcase whatever attributes he may possess for entering the race for POTUS.
The interview didn't give him that chance?? Then tell me, what DID it afford him. I mean after all, you did say the he "made minemeat out of Meredith Viera", so he nust have been in charge of the interview....IF your claim is correct, which of course, it isn't.
Finally JW, you believe my claim that Trump is Paranoid, stupid and arrogant was directed at you? My mistake...I can see how you might think that.
If you'd like to debate Trump's idiocy further, I suggest you increase your knowledge of all things in general first.

"Freely speaking" one's mind is a far cry from attempting to undermine the legitimacy of our elected president. You and Donald Trump may not have voted for Barack Obama and apparently see him as a pretender to the a throne of some kind, but does that bitter resentment you hold entitle Trump or you to go on a nationally broadcast television show and foment distrust of our duly elected president in order to undermine and discredit him?
No. It doesn't. It doesn't even come close to being "Free Speech".
Trump just ruined whatever small outside chance he may have had in a run for the presidency. His egotistical diatribe against a man who is superior to him told all the nation all it needs to know.
Trump is finished as a candidate.

Along with the great privilege of "Free Speech" comes great responsibility. Even practicing some measure of responsibility would seem to preclude publicly denigrating our duly elected president, but as we have seen with the advent of people like Donald Trump, who are famous simply for being famous, a talentless, offensive individual sees an opportunity in running down the president of the United States, all in order to inflate his already exaggerated sense of self-importance.
And you applaud him for it? How Patriotically hypocritical of you.

You continue to put words or positions in my mouth. Please take your emotion out of this issue. Its sounds like we agree on the core issue. My original post was an observation. Viera was going in for the gotcha and Trump ate her lunch.

Personally, I have no problem with free speech - when it IS free speech. What I have a problem with, is a guttless wonder like Trump who publicly advocates undermining our president. His public statements go far past anything resembling 'Free Speech".
That you applaud him for it, then deny that applaus, is - in my opinion - the hallmark of a coward. At least have the guts to try and defend your statement.
Your original "observation" from your comment #1.18: "I watched the interview this AM with Vierra. Trump ate her lunch and made mince meat of her."

It's difficult enough to try and understand people face to face at times.. but over a communicative process like trying to read people with typed words can be hell and lead to problems..

JW: Your comment that Trump somehow "made mincemeat" out of Meredith Viera was your take on it. I suspect it was your take because you are a Trump fan, and also dislike or distrust Meredith Viera for reasons known only to you.
I personally never have cared for Trump because he's a patrician snob with inherited wealth, who can afford to piss away millions, and then brag that it doesn't bother him.
The galling thing about him lately is that he attacks our president as he himself is a better man. THAT is patently untrue, as the president's well known life story "Trumps" Donald Trump's by leaps and bounds.
My prediction is that the president will refuse to take part in an argument with another grandstanding wanna-be. History is full of those who have tried to engage those better than them into these type of affairs.

Corporate bankruptcies are a part of business. I believe Trump has made more then lost at AC.
I don't know if Trump has my vote, but there is more to him then his TV shtick. He has taken great risks and won and lost. On the whole he has been a success since his early days. His kids seem raised well and sharp. Trumps greatest attribute over Obama is his experience in executive command.
- 6 votes
I am sorry I do not see anything in beyond his TV persona. He takes risks? WHERE?
As far as kids go: So do Obama's kids. I thought the kids of the candidates are off limits? Or is that only when they misbehave like Bush II & Palins?
His executive command to me makes him one of the least favorable. Any one that takes & fails to give as he & many of his cohorts do should not be in a position to sell the American public more into slavery to the corporation. We do not need a business man that is beholden to big business - We had that with Bush & look where it got us.
- 19 votes
I am sorry I do not see anything in beyond his TV persona. He takes risks? WHERE?
Since his early years in New York in the 70's and 80's he has taken risks, successfully managed them and won. Even a quick visit to NYC will see Trumps name on many things. The people didn't name it in his honor, it was because he built it. The ability to build skyscrappers in NYC is no easy task. The money, the organization, the logistics and the politics all make it something few can successfully accomplish.
As far as kids go: So do Obama's kids. I thought the kids of the candidates are off limits? Or is that only when they misbehave like Bush II & Palins?
Trump's kids are adults and successful in their own right. I don't believe saying Obama's raised his kids well is so bad. Why is it for Trump? What did the Bush girls do but get a little drunk now and again. At least they learned that drunk driving lesson from mom. Even Palin's kids did do anything so bad. Getting knocked up is not the worst thing your kid can do.

Hmmm - Let's see he started in his father's real estate business. Where did Obama start? Did he have a father to give him a job? I am sorry anytime someone starts out with a family business you can hardly call them self made. He started with no risks cuz he didn't have to go out & find his job like the rest of us. He is what he is - a corporate shill that will sell out to the highest bidder and give to his cronies cuz that is what he is IMO.
Trump started young in his father's New York real estate business, and by the 1970s had made himself a Manhattan deal-maker, somehow talking banks and city government into financing his ambitious developments.

Yeah they are. And much more polished than their dad. They would probably be more suited to a run at the White House then him frankly. He is just too full of himself, and has no class or diplomacy. Just because you have money and surround yourself with nice things, doesn't make you classy.
Trump only is entertaining a run for the White House to make even more of a name for himself. It's pretty clear to see. The man is so incredibly arrogant. We don't need a leader alienating us from the rest of the world even more. Playing hard ball might work in the real estate game, but you have to have more diplomacy when you are a President. Trump just doesn't seem to have that in him.

I'm not saying it's true. But could you imagine if this investigation blew the lid off a cover up? That would be crazy. Could you imagine the Constitutional crisis having an illegal President would cause?

My daughter does not have a "birth certificate". She has a "certificate of live birth" much like our president. Does this mean she is not a US citizen? Some places just don't give out the "real deal"
Only the most clownish are arguing semantics. This issue is this. The birth certificate the President produced like everyone elses is a print out from the state birth records computer system. The information is as valid as the operator that entered it in. Pre-computer births are entered into the system but the original hospital written record is also saved.
Even in the days of paper records, with money and the right connections a phony birth could be entered. It is easier with a computer. The FBI does it legally with witness protection.
Look at a major city like Jersey City, New Jersey. It's birth records system was so corrupted that the city's birth certificates can not be used as legal proof. The citizens have to cut through red tape to get a legit birth record. So, a birth certificate doesn't seem like the final end all doubt word of proof enough to be President. Illegal aliens get phony birth certificates and licenses all the time. Enough of those cases involve the people working at the birth and drivers agencies.
Obama should just allow access to his birth records and put this matter to rest.
If people don't believe the first document certified by the state of Hawaii... why precisely should anybody expect them to believe a second document certified by the state of Hawaii?
Some people will never believe otherwise. They are a small number of the people that have doubts about the matter. Obama's problem are the people that mostly believe he was born in the USA but are not sure either.
Obama refusing public access to his birth records seems suspicious to many people. It flys in the face of any political common sense. I don't think anyone expects the President to dignify his critics by providing his birth records like he was a candidate for President. Simply opening them up and letting the critics and supporters have access is different. It's easy to doubt a claim of 'nothing to hide', when you block access to records.

So I guess the birth announcement was also a plant? I mean THEY KNEW he was going to be president way back then.

Just like a small kid entering school.. the paperwork needs to be in order.. birth certificate.. shots.. etc.. President of the US is no exception.. nor any other politician.. there are certain procedures that need to be followed... and you must abide by the laws in order to follow through to get to that position..
His birth certificate was in order prior to him even running for Prez.. the government I am damn sure already checked him out before he even entered the Hall of Congress.. Between the secret service and Fbi .. I doubt they "covered" anything up .. then to question the authority of Hawaii's top people .. is asinine to say the least.. This is an entire publicity stunt to attach the birthers even more to the velcro that is Trump.

I listened to a phone interview with Trump this morning on Morning Joe.
I think Trump has lost his marbles.
He repeated the BC foolishness that has been debunked over, and over and over again.
When asked about he birth announcement in the Hawaiian newspapers, his newest conspiracy theory is that Obamas' mother had Obama in Kenya, hurried back to the US within 5 days and she had his name put in the birth announcement in the Hawaiian newspapers.. She was a very busy lady, traveling half way around the world right after giving birth so she could put the announcement in the newspapers-----knowing full well that he would be President one day. Yeah Riiiiiiiight.
The whole panel was laughing at him. The more they questioned him, the more belligerent he became.
I think he's gone round the bend.
I used to think highly of him, even though he is an adulterer, filed for bankruptcy 3 times, and is an egotistical, narcissistic man. But his crazy delusions are putting him in the same category as Glen Beck, Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman.
He's pandering to the teabaggers. Someone should whisper in his ear that the teabaggers are not the majority of this country, and a big chunk of America thinks they are &^%$# crazy.

It is the Secret Service's responsibility to investigate the backgrounds of any and all who run for the highest office in the land. Rest assured, they would have found evidence that he is not born in the U.S. if it were the case. However, the birther quest is a great diversion from the actual issues facing the nation. As long as they keep doubts about Obama's brithplace alive, few will notice the current Republican hopefuls, and their Democratic counterparts, have nothing concrete to offer the nation.

Obama should just allow access to his birth records and put this matter to rest.
President Obama has met every legal obligation and has actually gone above and beyond what any previous president has done to prove his citizenship. The State of Hawai'i has certified his citizenship.
GET THE **** OVER IT.
(I'm going to take a break from Newsvine now because the stupidity is doing bad things to my blood pressure and civility.)

Could you imagine the Constitutional crisis having an illegal President would cause?
.
absolutely NONE AT ALL. ZERO, NADA, ZILCH... You need to know our laws. He was certified president and that makes him president.
look even if we could prove that bush stole the election in 2004 with the machines, all his rulling and appointments would stand, as he was CERTIFIED PRESIDENT.. that makes him president.
not only that but congress certified that obama was a citizen, they did the same for mccain(most people dont know mccains was on shakier ground for his birth than obama)
congress can make anyone a natural citizen by vote, they get this power by article I section 8 in the constitution.
and they did... so it really does not matter at this point what you prove.. they could probably try to impeach him and say he shouldnt have been sat, but you cant undo a certified presidency.

The birth certificate the President produced like everyone elses is a print out from the state birth records computer system. The information is as valid as the operator that entered it in. Pre-computer births are entered into the system but the original hospital written record is also saved.
Jave - Not necessarily true. If your American parents were travelling in a foreign country and you had been born in France, your parents could go to the county of their residence in the US and get a "Certification of Live Birth" for you. This would serve as your "Birth Certificate" for your entire life. Would it be proof that you were born in the US? No, because you weren't. But you would use it as proof that you are an American citizen, because you would be. The original birth certificate signed by the doctor with all the details would be in France where you were born.
Personally, I believe that obama was born in HI but there is interesting anectodal evidence that he was not. I believe that there is something else on his birth cert that he does not want people to know. We may find out soon as ten states may require a birth certificate before putting presidential candidates on their ballots in 2012.
As has been said many times, a "Certification of Live Birth" in not the same as a "Birth Certificate". States issue both and they are issued for specific reasons. SOmetimes records are destroyed in storms or floods. When this happens, people go to the county and have a "Certification of Live Birth" issued and it becomes the only official record of their birth. It can be used for getting a passport or whatever. They are also issued for Americans born of American parents in foreign countries. That fact, along with the anectodal evidence such as his Kenyan family saying he was born there and an apparent birth announcment in Mombasa, lead tot he questions. If obama wanted to put this all to bed he could just release his original Birth Cert but for some reason he will not.

Obama refusing public access to his birth records seems suspicious to many people.
He went out of his way to make his birth record public.
It's easy to doubt a claim of 'nothing to hide', when you block access to records.
He has not blocked access to anything. He has presented a state certified document. Anything else is kept by Hawaiian State Law.

Ten states cannot ask for a birth certificate before putting a candidate's name on a ballot. That is totally unconstitutional.
As I have said before. I have my original birth certificate with the raised labe. It has my name and the name of my parents. It is the size of an index card. That's it. Nothing else. No doctor's name, etc.
It is obviously much harder for many people to accept that a black man was elected President. And the fact that he is smarter than most people also ticks them off. And yes, he is smarter than Trump. Anyone who has to tell you how smart they are usually turns out to be an overblown, egotistical idiot.
Anyone who buys into this whole birther thing really needs to examine how gullible they are - or is the hatred for the President so great that any, and I mean any, excuse to delegitimize him will do.
Hey - although I don't believe George Bush actually won in 2000, the Supreme Court said he did. That's it. Case closed. George Bush became President. Get it? Obama is President.

Elections are a function of states. Do you have a citation for your assertion that the Constitution addresses the subject?
As I have said before. I have my original birth certificate with the raised labe. It has my name and the name of my parents. It is the size of an index card. That's it. Nothing else. No doctor's name, etc.
So what? Were you born in Hawaii? Every state has it's own forms and procedures. obama's can only be compared to other HI birth certs, not to certs from other states. I have a friend who was born in a hospital on Oahu 2 years after obama and her birth cert looks nothing like his. That's because she has her original birth cert and the one obama shows us is a replacement birth cert called a 'Certification of Live Birth'. Why? Where is the original?
Really Ted? That article from Slate is proof positive to you that obama was born in HI? Or even that it demonstrates that some interviewer is lying? It's barely heresay or anecdotal.

Talking to a birther is like talking to a person that has one foot nailed to the floor and persists in hopping around in circles.
The birthers are so ignorant, they don't realize they are being used.
The Republicans have nothing, no plan to help the middle class or working man. The do have a plan to take every penny they can from the country and flush it to the top.
If they can keep the slack jawed, gullible all ginned up on this idiotic birther issue, they can pick your pockets clean and throw your money at the rich. Who BTW have been doing quite well thank you. Not to mention corporations that pay no taxes and actually get a rebate on the tax payers dime.
You birthers have been given the evidence, the facts, over and over and over again, yet you still refuse to believe what is put in front of you. You have no logic in your thinking. You cannot accept Obama is an American citizen, not because of his birth certificate, but because you don't want to believe it-period.
So moving forward, you prove he is not a citizen. Good luck with that. Epic fail for the birthers even with the courts.
Birthers are a lesson in futility.

greg-now you show me proof he is NOT an American citizen. If you had a critical thinking mind, this should answer all your questions.

The birth certificate issue has been given a pass by the main street media but by no means has he provided a document for the country to view nor has he given records for his education, I believe they have been locked for a reason... potentially could be the biggest scandal in American history !
He is never going to release any personal financial information so he is not going to run. He is a distraction, probably being paid to distract the media with his preposterous theories while the republicans propose and try to enact their draconian extreme radical middle class killing agenda. Trump is a person who will do anything for the right price, include make a complete fool of himself.

babina,
That is what I want to know. Who is behind Trump? Someone came and sat down at the kitchen table and talked about a plan.
It seems as well-liked as he is, powerful and rich, his detectives would have surely turned up something by now?
Sheesh!! All bankruptcy and no sense...

He is never going to release any personal financial information so he is not going to run.
It's not so much the financial information that will do him in.
In exchange for Donald's "birther quest" investigation and results, let's have a public, televised "discovery" session to see if that's really a small, dead animal on his head, a bad comb-over, or just the worst hair style on earth.
Trump is very sensitive about that ugly mop--possibly because it hides the lobotomy scar.

I think he just needs a hobby. Also his huge ego forces him to stay in front of the camera, bad hair and all. Sorry I know the hair remark was a cheap shot.

What is really funny is that the birthers keep saying one more document will make them believe and trust him. Yeah RIGHT!

Trump and other birthers could find a video tape of the actual birth - and they still wouldn't believe it. They cannot accept that Barack Obama is the President.
They are all acting like silly, spoiled children, running around the sandbox.
Here's a bigger question: Why does the media, and supposedly professional journalists, allow anyone who believes this crap, to be interviewed and treated as someone important.
The Today Show, for awhile now, has sullied their reputation. Viera, usually a thinking person, did herself no favors by not challenging Trump's idiotic and egotistical remarks.
Shame on the media for covering this stuff. It is nonsense. Better cover what really is in Paul Ryan's budget.

How will the little guy be protected from the big guy.

Well he is trying to end the Federal Reserve which printed up the money for Bush's war in Iraq, for corporations to profit from wars. He would make a balanced budget amendment so the government could only spend what it takes in, no more borrowing money and no more the Fed printing up money. He is right at the heart of where our debt comes from. He would bring our troops home from all around the world, not let the corporations use our military industrial complex, no more wars for oil, no personal income taxes, rather corporate and excise taxes. Read his book "End The Fed." He says the Federal Reserve created the housing boom and bust and is now busting the bond market and that it steels from the middle class and gives to the rich via inflation which is caused by printing up more and more money, putting it into the economy.
Ron Paul 2012. No more old time Repubs, no more Dems. End both old time parties and end the debt.
The Democratic party will never be in office again, it is now completely finished. All of its programs are all in massive debt, bankrupting the states and SS and Medicare are using up most of the federal budget and in 120 trillion dollars of debt. Welfare bankrupted CA, the government pensions are in 200 billion dollars of unfunded liabilities.
NO one wants any of the Republican candidates because the Republican party is finished. Enough corruption and killing the middle class. In case no one has noticed, both parties are finished.
Ron Paul 2012.
Trump is a perfect example of Republican idealogy at work, privitize the profit and socialize the losses, is what that tool is good at, it is all he has ever done, and all he will ever do. Why do people assume wealth is an indication of a good person, when it is more likely a sign of a bad person. Why would a notoriously selfish F want a position where the purpose is to be not selfish, it sure won't be to help America.

I think people are misreading Trump. I saw a liberal guy on Chris Matthew's show yesterday who interviewed Trump, and he likes him. Liberals want a tariff on imports from China, and that is the first order of business for the U.S., a tariff for revenue and to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S. The Repubs have NO one anyone likes. Do you see one Fox follower who actually likes Eye of Newt or any of those old time corporate Repubs? Palin and Bachmann have zero chance to win Independents. Haley Barbor is KKK, forget about the mainstream voters. All they have is Trump. And, he is right on the money about the tariff and creating jobs.
I contacted him and told him to run as VP with Ron Paul. Put Ron Paul in there to get all the rest of these messes both parties have made cleaned up, and let Trump deal with China and manufacturing jobs. That is exactly what we really need. I have had beyond enough of all of the Dems and of all of the Repubs.
Remember the egg on Geraldo Rivera's face when he opened Al Capone's vault?
- 8 votes
Sorry, sms, Rivera did that live on camera. You don't expect Trump to be that honest, do you? He may tape the discovery, but when it turns out to be proof that the Pres. WAS born in HI that tape will disappear faster than you can say "you're fired." (What do you want to bet those investigators have some seriously hairy clauses in their contracts that will break them financially if they disclose anything they find without the Don's blessing?)
- 10 votes
cm. I'm assuming that he is going to "find" that the President was NOT born in Hawaii. How is it helpful to his aims (whatever the hell they are) to prove the actual fact? It will be very interesting to see how he "proves" this negative. And how can you possibly claim that Trump would do anything underhanded? cm, I'm shocked, shocked.
- 3 votes
Well. sms, either Rivera is not a good example, then, or I don't remember his big scene properly. Didn't Rivera prove the opposite? But you expect the Don to prove what he wants to prove. That means, the Don has to to get into the tomb before he opens it, fix the evidence inside, and then have the big reveal. OH! You're saying Trump has the kind of money it takes to have those kind of results? Yeah. You're right. The truth will be buried even deeper. After all, Trump knows all kinds of forgers, right?

If this guy gets elected I will build a raft and row towards Cuba!! He thinks we're a laughing stock now!?! Maybe they should pass a law now making it illegal for anyone who has a comb-over to hold the office of President.

What evidence do you have that says Obama's Certificate of Live Birth is fake? None I am sure.
This entire debate is a travesty. Trump hasn't even annunciated a single worthy policy initiative nor explained why he has gone into bankruptcy multiple times yet thrived through the most unscrupulous of means. Why would anyone vote for this guy? Why would anyone respect him? If Trump is presidential material we have truly sold our soul to the top 1%.
I will say it is totally fair for him to attempt to investigate this matter but why would you draw conclusions before you have any evidence? The accuser would not only have to prove that there was falsification of documents by multiple state and hospital officials (and newspaper staff) but that Obama was in fact born outside of the US. And that simply is not going to happen. This is a complete red herring used to to distract from the GOP/TP's lack of workable policy.

Seems to me that this is just another hater seed with no substance! typical liberal crap!
Not only has the birth certificate of the President been shown, it has also been certified as authentic and true by the governor of the state of Hawaii which I might remind everyone is a republican. I had some small amount of respect for Trump before he started this nonsense but he is obviously catering to the lunatic fringe.
- 9 votes
Yeah, the same governor that was overjoyed that he had the certificate and then the health service office of hawaii state that they did not have it?
By "birth certificate" I suppose Trump and the birthers mean a hospital record of the birth. They must mean that because the official Hawaiian legal birth certificate has been produced as Nancy just noted, and two contemporaneous newspaper birth announcements have also been found in newspaper archives. So let's play Trump's game. Suppose no one can find a hospital record of his birth in Hawaii. What would that prove? There could be many reasons why such a record would no longer exist after 46 years, especially where it is not the official certificate of birth. Even if that record should have been submitted to officials as the basis of the existing certificate, it could still be innocently missing.
There is nothing that will supplant the official and newspaper record in Obama's favor until someone finds official and authentic documentation that he was born elsewhere, and the birthers have not and cannot do that because they have spent a lot of time and money trying and so has the press.
- 3 votes
There's a conspiracy for all that stuff. Every birther knows that Obama's father planned this whole scenario knowing he would be President one day. Makes perfect sense, to the lunatics amongst us.
