Has the Republican congress considered going after this agency too? Hell.. let's just drop all the agencies put thousands out of work.. and hope that we are not eating something that was at least checked for more than 1 second... and isn't contaminated.. where a child or elderly person could die from...

Listeria can kill a perfectly healthy person. It's fatal in 1 out of 5 cases. I almost died three times from it, and this was before I got chronically ill. It's a horrible, horrible sickness I wouldn't wish on anyone. I was afraid to eat for weeks afterwards for fear that I would become sick again (listeria has an incubation period of approximately 12-14 days, so it's hard to pinpoint exactly what you ate that made you sick), and I pretty much stop eating after Christmas until after New Year's because two of my sicknesses happened on New Year's Eve (and I don't drink, so no, it wasn't booze).
Awful, awful thing to have. Thanks for the link.
