Par4,

Looks like a return to Sinclair's "The Jungle". That link was disgusting.

Suffice it to say that I have very serious concerns about the House's efforts to slash spending for the FDA. Not to mention Planned Parenthood, NOAA, NASA, EPA, DOE, IPCC - what will be left to protect us from anti-intellectualism and 'the bottom line'?

If I knew for sure voodoo actually worked, I would enlist someone who knew the dark art.. and ask them to place a curse on every member of the right in the House.. Short of that.. and of the belief.. Scientist in the U.S. must be scratching their collective heads.. asking themselves this question: Without the knowledge of Science and all the sciences from A to Z (and then some) where would this country be? If not but for the fact of these important agencies and the sciences within.. I suspect we would be fighting the plague or there would be no one left to protect.

I doubt that they could void out any of the agencies.. but they can build up a lot of what they would like to do - to barter against what the Democrats in the House & Senate want to do.. In other words.. to use as a tit for tat .. something is going to give.. but I doubt they will terminate any agency.. (famous last words)

De-funding the FDA is a joke, I like trusting my food.

And the new budget calls for an increase in military spending to boot. If we're gonna cut something...that would be a good start.
