The U.S. Food and Drug Administration called today for stepped up efforts to improve food safety practices in retail food establishments, specifically pointing to the need for the presence of certified food safety managers to oversee safety practices.

In other news seven more highly profitable drugs were released to the market with only minimal lab testing. FDA spokesperson Ina Pharma Pocket said the drugs were released quickly to combat sliding vacation allowances for the children of drug company reps.
