A California college student who was repeatedly beaten, punched, kicked, and paddled during a weeks-long sorority initiation that included frequent warnings that "snitches get stitches" yesterday filed a negligence lawsuit against a variety of defendants, including four sorority members who were convicted earlier this year of hazing.

This isn't a soroity. IT IS a Gang....."Howard reported that pledges were repeatedly warned not to talk with friends and family about the initiation process, since “snitches get stitches.” They were also told that if they failed to participate in certain pledge activities, they would be “jumped out,” a gang term for a beating conducted by all members of the group." The college needs to suspend that gang and parents need to be aware of this.

Wow! What happened to the Virtues of Respectability ... Compassion ... Dignity ... Humanity ... Truthfulness ... Justice ... Humility ... and so on. Why do kids these days think it's acceptable to interact with other people in such mean-spirited manners? It seems more and more prevalent these days. I know the world has changed since I was growing up but has this become society's "norm" for our young people? It's almost like a survival of the fittest out there.

I'm glad the girl had the courage to seek legal recourse. Being pummeled and threatened and harrassed is not what the college experience should be about and the aggressors must be stopped!

The name of girl in the upper left picture is Princess Odom??? Wow! She failed to live up to her name.

Consideration and common sense went out the window a long time ago... along with Respectability, compassion, dignity, humanity, truthfulness, justice, and humility...I grew up in the 40's and 50's.. and in the last 10-20 years.. it seems like we are reverting back to when humans started to walk the earth.. They may have been uncivilized.. but nothing compares to today's actions...

Perhaps this is why I never went Greek. My freshman roomie did but she never mentioned what they did during orientation week. Of course I can also remember that my high school band was prohibited from having its annual end of band camp water fight after my freshman year. We were told it was a form of hazing (I still don't get that since I was right in the thick of throwing water as a freshman). If a water fight is hazing, we need to go back to that threshold I think. What these girls did was WAY over the line.

Lmao. This is not news. Frats and sores are the best friends money can buy. This is going on at every campus and has been forever. And will continue. Low self esteem people buying friends-priceless

Sad. I told my daughter that it's better to walk alone in peace, with dignity and self-respect, than to compromise and fulfill a "need" for friendships with people who do not have your best interest at heart. It's better to have one, two, three good friends than a whole passel of fake friends who don't really care an iota for you. She has chosen well and I'm proud of her.
