San Diego — The crew of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) marine interdiction vessel stopped a human smuggling attempt off the coast of San Diego netting seven illegal aliens on Sunday afternoon.

Border Patrol agents determined the seven people were citizens of Mexico attempting to illegally enter the United States. Their ages ranged from 22 to 56-years-old. All were transported to a Border Patrol Station for processing.
An investigation is being conducted to identify and prosecute the individuals responsible for this smuggling attempt. CBP seized the vessel.
