Sick bastard!!

I am pleased with the sentence....
Now can someone please tell me why these bastards who actually molest children do not receive a harsher sentence that this man who only attempted to molest a child received?
Too many of them receive a few years...and are "forgotten".

People like this guy and worse.. should have their individual legs tied to a semi-tractor trailers each facing the opposite way with a very long rope... enough to get the vehicles up to about 60-65..

4.5 years? It should have been more like 235 Years, not 235 months........

USAF Vet: 235 months is 19.5 years, not 4.5 years. (4.5 years would be 54 months). Had it been 4.5 years, I would agree with you :-)

Why months ? 235 months = 19 years 7 months , or less than 20 years.
Ah..I see why now! 235 months is far more insidious sounding...

That long in the general prison population will be hell. Prisoners have wives and kids too and this sick puppy will not get any breaks that he wants. There will be ample retribution for this one.

That long as a chomo? He'll be in ad-seg from the jump. He may not even live out those 235 months.
Sadly he won't be put into general pop.. they never do with the molesters. This man is a sick puppy.. I hope at least once his guard "forgets" to lock his cell.....
He should have gotten life. I don't believe they can be rehabilitated.

I totally agree with that.. Life in front of a firing squad, or inside an active volcano.

Quite right. They all just end up offending again (unless it's the case that the guy actually didn't know he was sleeping with a 14-year-old who dolled herself up to look 22). Megan's Law is the greatest insult to our justice system. It pretty much admits, "Yeah, this guy is still dangerous and your kids aren't safe around him, but at least now you know about it and can live the rest of your residency in fear!" We should put them down like rabid dogs.

There were rape laws way before Megan's Law that sent people to prison..
Plus What Parents would allow an "8" year old girl into a Chat room ??? Where were the parents in all of this? Parents should be Monitoring their young kids at ALL times while they are on a computer... Place your child as bait.. there will be always some perv out there to take advantage of it... Parents have to use their stinken minds.. and much of the reason why kids are picked up by predators.. parents do not.

No good, Par. Parents haven't wanted anything to do with their kids in a long time. These days they can't even bother to teach them basic cultural and moral values; they just plop them in front of the TV and let Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers raise their children for them. Either that or they get them hooked on World of Warcraft at age seven so the kid won't bother them for anything except food.
I don't know what the cause of this parental apathy is. Sometimes I wonder if, maybe, women shouldn't put their children first and foremost. I respect all people's rights to the lives and careers of their choice, but when the kids are put on the back burner so Mommy and Daddy can have grown-up fun, or make more money, or work harder for the promotion which comes more easily to male workers than female, well, there's something wrong with the system. Too few parents pay attention to what their children do, where their children go (in reality and on the Internet), with whom they hang out, and it's just plain negligent in such a highly technological world as we live in today. Seriously: don't bother having children if you aren't willing to raise them! Kids are people, not signs of social success!

How about both parents?

Exactly!! What about the absentee fathers who are not in a child's life when they should be? I'll tell ya, they are too busy doing their own thing out of the home, ignoring their family .. yet taking credit when they have done nothing. Some are too busy "hangin with their Homies", some are hanging at the bars, some ignore the kids when their in the home.. they couldn't be bothered or disturbed.. The Country Club fees and Teeing off times is more important.. just doing whatever it is that they can do .. to be away from home.

Meh, I knew a lot of kids who were in that "absent father" situation (and plenty of guys who became that nonexistent father), and I feel rather too bleak about the possibility to even bring it up. Selfish pricks will always be selfish pricks, and no matter how many State of the Union speeches we hear about the duty of a father to his family, some people will never care about anyone but themselves.
But you are correct in your assessment of my emphasis on the mother's role. It should be both parents. My mind was just traveling down a different street, hehe. ^_^

While I'm glad to know that the FBI was using a fictitious rather than an actual 8 year old this guy's request goes beyond the realm of disgusting.
Par - I like the idea of the tractor trailers & long ropes. I do however think you are missing out on some of the practical applications of sea-urchins and box jellyfish.

lilgremlin - Lmao
Now that is using an imagination and creative idea.. the box jellyfish ..that 1" almost invisible species of jellyfish is one of the deadliest of all things, and found around Australia.. and sea urchins are not anything I would want stuck to me either.. Let us not forget the deadly force of the platypus too.

You learn something new everyday. I did not know that about the platypus. Did you know that tarantulas can fling hairs? I believe taratula hairs were also an early ingredient in itching powder. Many practical applications indeed.

Yes.. the Tarantula hair was used for itching powder.. and they do fling them to irritate those that wish to do them harm as a warning shot ..
