SAN DIEGO -- A letter carrier who is also a registered sex offender has been reassigned after concerns were raised that he was delivering mail in an area with many children.
Dana Kennette is now in a job that does not deal with the public, according to Postal Service spokeswoman Eva Jackson.
The Megan's Law Web site says he was convicted of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14.
Kennette had been delivering mail in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, where he lives.
That is the same area where 17-year-old Chelsea King disappeared last month.
The remains of 14-year-old Amber Dubois of nearby Escondido were also discovered recently. (EOT)
