ONE university employee was killed and two others injured in a shooting on the Ohio State University (OSU) campus.

FOX-affiliate WTTE reported the shooting occurred at 3:30am EST this morning inside a maintenance building near the Columbus campus power plant.

OSU Police said one worker was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to Ohio State University Medical Centre, where one victim remains in a critical condition.

Heavily armed officers searched the area surrounding the plant following the incident and took a suspect into custody.

OSU confirmed the shooting did not involve any students and said the university is continuing with normal operations. [EOT]
