An Islamic advocacy group has filed a complaint against the Henderson Police Department on behalf of seven Muslim men detained while praying in a gasoline station parking lot in December.

The Los Angeles office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, announced the complaint in a press release on Friday.

Thanks for the seed, Par. I think this line from the article says a lot:

officers told them "they were not trained well enough to know how to appropriately respond to Muslim religious behavior."

Why should they need special training to respect people's right to pray, regardless of what religion or what they look like?

Today with all the crap .. many people are walking on egg shells to be Politically correct.. To be honest with you.. I am sick and tired of it.. and especially with the Muslim community...

I thought that the Enlightened world was done with religion at the end of the 18th century.

If only humans pursued "the spiritual" and dispensed with centuries of fear-based, reactionary, Machiavellian, "organized religion."

The Islamic advocacy group should be fined and it members jailed for 30 days for filing this friviolous lawsuit in the first place!

Kudos to the Henderson police department for trying to protect these morons prostrating themselves in the middle of a parking lot.
