There's good news for college students: This year's Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, form is simpler.

Miami Dade College student Karren St. Jean had her first experience applying for financial aid last year, while still a senior at Miami Northwestern Senior High School

St. Jean had never held a job, and was daunted by the technical-sounding income questions on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.

I never realized just how difficult it was before...../s

I reckon it's a good thing to dumb down these applications anyway. Anyone who was incapable of filling out the 'previous' form is clearly in need of an education, but remedial reading should be a requirement before taking any college course..........ppffftt!

There is something to be said about dumbing down...

The people that have no idea how to find information, should not be the ones later in life taking up the skills of a surgeon. You only want the smartest and the brightest, and that means people with initiative, imagination, and creativity.
