A man has kidnapped his injured puppy from a vet clinic, saying he can't afford a $2500 bill and would go to jail rather than give the dog up.

The 5-month-old pup was hit by a speeding car two weeks ago and left with a seriously broken back leg.

Sighs....

Compassion in the first Vet, is sorely lacking. One wonders why personalities as such become caretakers and healers of helpless critters.

Economic times in all parts of the world, have hit everyone below the belt, and to not even be capable of suggesting some compromise in payment, only that its the money or the dogs life. Nice guy.

I have found that not all vets actually care about animals. Like some medical docs, they have grown to despise who they treat.

$2500??? WHOA!! Must be using some good drugs on that dog...

I've got a lab that was the runt of her litter, she's 7/12 yrs and only comes up to my knee. 4 yrs ago she was hit by a small compact car that shattered one of her hind legs in 7 different places. My vet quoted me around $1500 to put it all back together. But I worried for her future with having bad arthritis and not to mention the costs of the medicine she would need as she grows older with the injury. I decided to have the leg amputated. So, $300 and 2 days later I picked up my bundle of joy from the vet. The lost leg hasn't stopped her yet. She is still able to jump in the back of my full sized Dodge pickup, although I let her ride up front. I take her to the beach time to time and we race up and down it, wow 1 less leg and she still whoops me. She hasn't changed one bit and still acts like the pup she once was. She has the best personality out of all the dogs I have ever owned and I am so glad she is in my life.

Next time check out the different opportunities. Having the leg amputated sounds cruel but in the end it was the best thing for her and me.
