Onion ring has more Facebook fans than Harper

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has new competition in the form of an onion ring – and the onion ring is so far the hands-down winner.

A Facebook fan page titled: "Can this Onion Ring get more fans than Stephen Harper?" that was launched Feb. 2, features a photo of a crispy onion ring and 144,067 fans as of Tuesday afternoon.

That compares to the 30,506 on Harper's fan page.
