A high-profile Conservative candidate has been accused of using a member of his staff to pose as a local constituent in an election leaflet.

In the pamphlet, which calls on Gordon Brown to show more honesty, Jacob Rees-Mogg, the Tory candidate for the seat of North East Somerset, is seen chatting to a woman in the village of Midsomer Norton, near Bath.

The caption on the photograph, which also appears on the local Conservative Party website, reads: "Jacob talking to a lady in Midsomer Norton".

Probably couldn't find someone who shared his political point of view. Had to use his employee to get the leaflet done. Doesn't bode well for his election if the best he could do was use an employee as a supporter.
