MANATEE — A man and woman say they were attacked and beaten with a shotgun during an attempted robbery early Saturday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

A 33-year-old man and 49-year-old woman told deputies they were walking in the 900 block of 59th Avenue Drive West at around 3 a.m., when two men dressed in black approached them. One of the men had a shotgun.
