Police said the incident occurred during Lexington's Festival Night, an annual event that welcomes Santa to Lexington Center for the official lighting of downtown's holiday display.

I'm no legal expert, but I suspect that a decent defense attorney could punch a "hole" in this assault with flying donut charge. Unless the attacker had that "glazed" look and then maybe other charges could be filed. Then there is that whole statement of the officer being grazed by a donut. I thought policeman grazed on donuts, not the other way around!!

When I read this, I half expected that it would be a case of some really tall jackass dangling said donut above the cop's head going, "Nope, nope, can't have it, nope..."

Youwould think a cop would be more appreciative of having free donuts tossed at him. At least the accused wasnt throwing coffee.

Whew! I read the title wrong. I thought it was "Man-wielding doughnut targets officer."

    I was like: "WTF?"

I would have thought the cop would have tried harder to catch it.
