But it's not only those on low-lying islands who are in danger. Millions of people live by the sea - and are dependent on it for their livelihoods - and many of the world's largest cities are on the coast.
The signs are all there.. Global warming will be felt with weather to the extreme, and rising sea levels threaten not only overseas, but here in the United States. If you thought what happened during Katrina was horrific, consider the entire coastline here, and those who irrationally built along our shore line because they wanted a home near it. If this continues, and it seems that it will as long as the Artic and Antartic ice is melting, then the homes along the coastline will be part of the ocean view, by being in the ocean.
