Fort Bragg (AP) -- Sarah Palin brought her book-signing tour to North Carolina's Fort Bragg on Monday and hundreds greeted the former Republican vice presidential candidate in a campaign-like gathering.

Palin's appearance tested Department of Defense regulations, which prohibit politicians from using installations as a platform. Palin didn't give a speech and individually thanked soldiers, and a base spokesman said she was not campaigning.

They should of closed it down.. a book signing and turn it into something political.

I was under the impression that she was no longer a politician since she failed to gain the VP slot and then resigned as Governor.

Frosty... that is true.. however.. one cannot discuss politics when she is talking about her Memoir on a military base... Politics and Military - try not to mix.

The last great Political war was Nam... Politicians wouldn't listen to the Pentagon.. hmm same here eh?

good point don't know why she'd be talking about politics anyway when she was supposed to be talking about her book.

I'm still hoping that the politicians learned something from Nam but it doesn't seem like it sometimes.

Some of these politicians were not even born or if they were they were in diapers crawling around... for Nam.

I can only imagine the charges of "using our troops as props" that would have occurred had Obama taken any book tours to military installations.
