ADAMS, Mass. -- A veteran Adams police officer accused of viewing child pornography on a computer in the evidence room at the police station has resigned.

The North Adams Transcript reports Friday that Alan Vigiard plans to pursue retirement benefits after pleading not guilty at his arraignment at Northern Berkshire District Court to charges of possession of child pornography.
