Parent in court over truancy

A PARENT has been given a two year conditional discharge for failing to send a child to school.

The parent, who cannot be named for legal reasons, did not ensure regular school attendance at ded Robert Clack School, Dagenham, between February and July of this year.

The Year Nine pupil missed 49 school sessions and achieved only 70 per cent attendance over that time.
